Stay in a historic home
Aunt Bette’s is a budget-friendly, self-contained bedroom and bathroom with a private entrance and patio on Campobello Island, New Brunswick. Perfect for a single person or couple, the suite has a separate location at the shady back of a Victorian house.
The historic home was built in 1900 in the Welshpool area by the Lank family, who had nine children. Betty E. Lank (“Aunt Bette”) was born in 1904 and had a long and prominent career as a nurse anaesthetist at Children’s Hospital Boston before returning to her house on the island. The house is walking distance from the East Coast Ferry to Deer Island and the historic Campobello Island library and museum.
The fresh clean bedroom has a queen bed, reading chair, mini-fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and kettle.
Cutlery, dishes, coffee, tea, and bottled water are included, as well as Starlink WIFI. Enjoy the charging stations, wall-mounted TV with Netflix and Prime Video, a large shower, maps, books, and extra towels and bedding.
The room has baseboard heaters and a thermostat, and the large bathroom has a walk-in shower with a seat. There is parking for one car at the front of the house or you can store your bike inside the back hall. The side entrance is one step up from the secluded patio.
The room is available for $135 CDN per night, which is approximately $95 USD per night, plus 15% tax. We offer a 10% discount for nursing home visitors and workers spending the night on the island.
